The Forge FTV will celebrate its first birthday with its biggest multi-act showcase yet, bringing Healthy Junkies, Avid Fan, KOJA and Jack Flint to Penny Black in Burnley on Friday 25 September.

Taking place almost exactly one year after The Forge FTV’s official launch party, the latest Lancashire Live & Loud event will mark 12 months of live shows, filmed performances and grassroots music promotion across East Lancashire.

London punk, grunge and glam-rock outfit Healthy Junkies will headline the night, bringing their high-energy live show to Burnley.

They’ll be joined by East Manchester dark post-punk trio Avid Fan, regional rock outfit KOJA, and singer-songwriter Jack Flint, who will open the evening.

The birthday show comes after a busy first year for the Burnley-based independent production and promotion collective, which has grown from filming live sets to staging events, supporting festival performances, running battle-of-the-bands style shows and hosting regular open jam nights.

The Forge FTV was founded in memory of Vicki Calland, with the aim of creating a platform for independent artists while supporting accessible grassroots live music across the area.

That approach will continue at Penny Black, with the event operating on a Pay What You Can ticket model with a minimum entry price of £6. The idea is to keep gigs accessible to audiences while ensuring the artists performing are fairly paid.

The Forge FTV described the show as a celebration of its first year of 'live music, independent media and community strength'.
